Finding My Path: A Journey with Rota Vicentina

Olá, I am Rozerin from Diyarbakır, Turkey, and I am originally Kurdish. I was born in 1995, and before it’s too late, I wanted to embark on an adventure and open a new chapter in my life as a long-term volunteer here at Rota Vicentina!

A Bit About Me

I grew up in southeastern Turkey and later studied Law in Istanbul. During my university summers, I traveled as much as possible, eager to learn about new cultures, meet people from different backgrounds, and expand my perspective. As part of a Work and Travel program, I worked in a kite store in North Carolina, backpacked through Italy for a month, and did an interrail trip across Europe with a friend.

After becoming a lawyer, I realized that law was not for me. During the pandemic, I began questioning my true self—my needs, desires, and passions—and finally admitted my undeniable love for cinema. I started working as an assistant director on motion pictures, internet series, and short films, immersing myself in a world that felt much closer to who I am.

Why Rota Vicentina?

When I was searching for a project that aligned with my interests, I came across Rota Vicentina’s YouTube videos and instantly fell in love—with the landscapes, the people, and the sense of community. I wanted to experience what it would be like to be part of such an inspiring environment—surrounded by nature, the ocean, vibrant colors, and a spirit of adventure. More than anything, I wanted to slow down and appreciate the quiet beauty of nature.

Here at Rota Vicentina, I hope to find peace—connecting with myself, with nature, and of course, with the people. I look forward to being part of this wonderful community and creating unforgettable memories together.

Beijinhos e abraços! Até já
